January Park

PARK! I LIKE PARK!! Okay, apparently my last post wasn't clear on the possible days that I was going to do a park. Of course, if they'd have read it thouroughly...Well, anyway, I guess an update couldn't hurt anything. So here's the basics:
Date: Two possible. Maybe a third possible..depending. #1: Jan. 22. This is the last day of finals. You would get transport. to the park and back, after school (1/2 day). #2: Jan. 23. Day after finals. No school. Transport to & from the park. #3: MAYBE some day during midwinter break (feb.). Not likely since we're probably going somewhere.
Time: If Jan 22: From approx: 11:30 - 1:30/2:00. Or, if it suits everybody better, from 2:00-4:00. If Jan 23: Don't know. Probably approx 2:00-4:00. This is where I need input you guys. When can you be there? When can you get rides?
Chaperone: My mom. She's officially agreed, though she says she doesn't want to be there longer than 2 hours.
Place: Park. Same place as the last park. If you forget which park that is, email me. Or go on Yahoo Groups and read the old park posting.
Transportation: Must be provided by a parent/sibling/friend/whatever. I'm not involved in that. Have rides. Or, if you live close, walk. I don't care.
Food: None. If we go on Jan 22, right after school, then everybody can bring a bag lunch. If you want. None provided.
Cost: $100.00 paid directly to me. Just kidding. None.
Activities: Hiking, sports, stick fights, kicking...same as usual.
Business: Have anything you want/need discussed ready. I figure, like last time, we hike 'til we find that tree, go through official business, and then hike more, play sports, etc.

I talked to Hungry about this the Wed. before break, and meant to talk to Dan but forgot in light of golden pennies & VB graphics. Sorry. I basically propose a couple rules pertaining to official business to keep it from taking too much time. What do you think?
1) Time limit. Don't ramble. Get to the point and move on. Actual limit to be decided by everyone at once.
2) Silence. No talking until the person presenting business is done - except for relevant questions/info/blah. PLEASE approve this one guys. This is the problem that made me take 20 min on Cedar Point last time instead of 5 minutes (As in, DCM jokes and dictator insults).

Park - Answers and the Basics

Many of you have been listening to me yap about the park for ages now. You've also probably heard at least one of my many ideas for the park - even if you didn't realize it. I've gotten lots of questions. Obviously, or else I wouldn't be making a whole post about it this early.
1. I want a winter park. I have since not long after the first park though I probably mentioned it shortly after the second one.
2. I don't care about laser tag (though I like it), bowling, Vgames, or virtually any other activity, even if I help plan them. Actually I think the only fully original plan I've made so far is parks... and that thing at the end of last year @ my house. But the park is important, especially now that we can't go outside for lunch/recess. Everything else? Don't care. Park? Definitely care.
3. I don't care what y'all say, I'm not discussing specifics for the park yet. Its to early. But, to assauge questions and assumptions, here are the basics:
a) My #1 date is Friday January 23rd. Its the day after finals and we have no school. #2 date is January 22nd. This is the last day of finals, and we have a 1/2 day. #3 is any day during mid-winter break (not christmas break) that doesn't coincide with my mom's plans to visit my sister (I don't know what those are yet). Please let me know if/when you're going away for mid-winter break or the long weekend after finals. Give me any info you can possibly have at the present time, and any new info that you happen to recieve between now and then.
b) Activities (and this is as specific as I'll go for the time being) would be the usual - hiking - with snow thrown into the mix. But most importantly (if least fun) is the official business. There are things that must be discussed. As in, they need to be talked about as a group not listed on blog, email, or print out. I'm already working out a system to get that part over with as quickly as possible without utter chaos. More later. I'd like to discuss them as a group so I don't have to repeat myself - and so nobody else does. I'd bet other people have certain things they want clarified/discussed/announced/whatever. Thus, I want as many people as humanly possible to be there. I will work around things if I have to (though I'd prefer not to). Another reason I want all info about when you're free as soon as you have it.
c) Since I've been planning this for so very long, my mom knows about it, and has all but agreed to chaperone like she did last time with one change - she'd rotate between the park bench and the car due to the cold.

My Explanation

Okay, by "working around what goes on at school" I meant that it'd make life much easier if we tried to schedule stuff coinciding with school-run stuff. That'd be way easier to plan. Like....I don't know...whatever they do at schools. It'd make life a LOT easier....planning stuff doesn't = fun. Except once in awhile.
Actually I was kinda thinking of the canned food drive thing - I still needed community service for my history class and I figured maybe the group could all go - it's supposed to be fun combined with work - but I never said anything because I ended up getting the hrs I needed when I thought I'd be one short...I can't add.

Computer Issues and L-Tag party.

Hi. Sorry I haven't been able to do much stuff online. I've been having computer issues. Then it died. We had to get it fixed. It had to be reformated, but luckily pictures, word docs, powerpoints, and some other files were saved.

I'm working on an impossible quiz. It's pretty tough. And really fun! Jessica is too, but mine is better.

Anyway, so my birthday is December 6, so there's a LaserTag party on December 5. You all should already know that, since I sent out those invitations.

Now I have to reinstall EVERYTHING!!!!!

So yeah. Now what? Park???? I wanna do park in winter. Beyond that, I don't care. And also I'm done planning things except the park - Must do park. Quick suggestion: Even though it sucks that we all go to different schools, it might be smart to try and work around what goes on at school. That'd make life a lot easier. Just so long as we avoid Katie & the SK. *snickers*. What do the schools do anyway? I'm still unclear on that - probably cause i don't listen to announcements.

Bowling - sometimes known as turkey bowl but not really a turkey bowl. 2 games
Chaperone: My mom.
Date: Tuesday the 25th.
Time:3:30-6:30. It officially starts at 3:30. But I'll be there earlier - around 3:00 - (I think) if anybody has to get dropped off earlier.
Place: Merri Bowl.
Directions: Merri Bowl is located at 5 Mile and Merriman. Its on the far side of the plaza on the corner. It's kinda hidden by Party City and is across from Kroger. If you need specific directions either ask me or go on google maps/mapquest. The exact address is 30950 Five Mile.
Food: Change of plans. Merribowl is filled with idiots so we can't bring in our own pizza. That sucks eggs on pizza. So: upon Dan's suggestion, I've decided that we're gonna play two games of bowling and then go across the parking lot to Wendy's where we all pay our own way and eat what we want. No pizza. Just bring money for whatever you want to eat.
Rides: Have a ride to AND from the bowling alley. My mom can't take anyone home.
Cost: Until 5:00 it's $1.99 per person. It's $2.79 for shoe rental. I dont know what happens after five, the psycho guy who picked up the phone hung up after listing those prices. Uh...we probably won't have time for more than a two games anyway if we want to eat.
People: Going: Me, Dan, Hungry, Tuba - small group this time.
Not going: Burke (out of town), Gabe (wrestling practice), Martin (no invite - my mom would kill me).

One more thing: what would be better (with what you know so far) for a park visit? January - the day of our last set of finals, or February - during mid-winter break?

Pics - IMPORTANT

I have multiple prnt scrn shots ripped from the 6th Grade Send-off movie and some pics that Stephany gave me if anybody is interested. I already gave them to some of you, but I don't remember who. Also I have a movie from the last rotary park visit and never even gave everybody the first movie (hitting water bottles). Email me if you want any of that stuff. And set up a time to get online (transferring stuff w/ YIM is easier).

If anybody has pics or movies that they have aquired recently or found from any time (i don't care if they're old) I want them. As long as more than one person in the group remembers the event when the pic was taken, I'll include it in the DVD I'm making. It won't be ready for a long time, but I'm still calling anything anybody can give me. Thanks.
Please also answer the following questions about your technology:
A) What kind of DVD player do you have? I need the specs.
B) What kind of DVD playing and/or editing programs do you have on your computer?
C) Do you have a DVD drive on your computer?

T-Bowl=Nope

T-Bowl=not gonna work. I asked Hungry the other day in the hallways and apparently he wasn't being sarcastic/obstinate/whatever. Eggs. When asked why not, he first said that he sucked at bowling. Then, a few minutes later, he decided that he didn't want to go because it was pointless.

I think the first reason is probably more accurate.

Anyway, so going isn't going to work since you need a team of 4. I was hoping Hungry would know somebody in band who'd want to go or something, but since he's not going......I highly doubt it's gonna work. In fact, I'm almost positive it's not gonna work. Oh well, who cares.

NOTE: I'm working on convincing my mom to chaperone a visit to the park in the winter with SNOW. Right now I'm looking at either the day after finals in January or during mid-winter recess in February. Don't know yet.

I have been listening to the announcements - yes, me. They haven't said anything about the requirements. If youre interested, I can go down to the student activities office sometime during lunch to find out more - I have nothing better to do. If we need more people maybe we can get the other schools? Or maybe Trombone knows somebody from band (yuck, shoots band)? Well, we'll see. I know you have to sign up for it though, so we'd better find out stuff fast.

Yes, I'm very interested in the Turkey Bowl. I was thinking about going but I didn't think you would want to do it (because you say you suck at bowling ALL THE TIME). But the problem is, teams of 4 are needed, i guess. I don't know. Let's listen to the announcements!!!!
